The 11th International Conference on "The Endeavours of Prominent Figures in Teaching and Practicing Buddhism" was successfully held at Shan State Buddhist University on November 7-8, 2024, powered by the dedication of scholars and the hard work of the SSBU team. This special conference celebrated the 60th birthday of the Most Venerable Rector Sayadaw Dr. Khammai Dhammasami, honoring his vision and contributions as the founder and rector of SSBU.
The Opening Speech was delivered by the Most Venerable Prof. Dr. K. Dhammasami, Founder and Rector of SSBU, Myanmar. This was followed by a Keynote Speech on "Ashin Ādiccavaṃsa: the First Burmese Bhikkhu in England" presented by Dr. Pyi Phyo Kyaw, Research Associate at the University of Oxford, UK, and former Dean and Senior Lecturer at SSBU, Myanmar.
Divided into four panels—English, Pali, Myanmar, and Shan—this year’s conference witnessed a remarkable increase in participation compared to previous years. Scholars from around the world gathered to share insights and experiences, demonstrating the enduring impact of Buddhism across cultures and languages.

This conference stands as a testament to SSBU’s ongoing commitment to fostering knowledge, unity, and the timeless values of Buddhism.
